Hi,
Just kind of a heads up as to what I'm thinking for race
schedule. Here's the data I'm looking at:
NOAA Marine Forecast:
SATURDAY
NORTH WINDS 15
TO 20 KNOTS BECOMING NORTHEAST 10 TO
15 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET NEAR SHORE
AND UP TO 8 TO 10 FEET IN THE
GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN
EXPOSED AREAS. SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
SUNDAY
EAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 6 TO 8 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL
WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
iWindsurf: N to NE mid-teens for
Saturday, E low 20's on Sunday
Accuweather: same
Tide: Sat/Sun - mid-tide going low;
If I were to make the call now, I'd pick Saturday.
Saturday the race would be challenging without the shore pound of dead onshore
launch of East wind. Both days are still possible, but I'm leaning towards
Saturday.
From the updated NOR, (Notice of Race):
First possible race start Saturday, December
13, 2008, 9:00 am. It's a good idea to arrive early (7:30 am), to get an easy
parking spot at South
Beach City of Fort Lauderdale Lot, (Residents free with City Parking Card,
$10 others for all day parking). There has been grass to rig on at the north end
of the lot closest to our launch. Practice / fun sailing Saturday or Sunday
depending on weather conditions. Possibility for guest lodging in homes of
locals.

late Friday afternoon and the website to be updated likewise.
