Hi,

The i-to-i Race is this Saturday or Sunday and we have great news from several angles.  Three things, first, we've got a great forecast:

SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. NEAR SHORE...SEAS 2 FEET
OR LESS BUILDING TO 2 TO 4 FEET IN THE AFTERNOON. IN THE GULF
STREAM...SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

SUNDAY
EAST WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET NEAR SHORE
AND UP TO 4 TO 6 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY
IN EXPOSED AREAS.

If I were making a decision at this moment, AND I AM NOT, so stayed tuned, for early Friday news, the race would run on Saturday based on the forecast above.  I'm hoping this would give us the best racing and the best turnout possible.  If you have lobbying towards one day or the other let me know in time to make decisions.  In any case, refer to the notice on the website which states:

First possible race start Saturday, December 8, 2007, 9:00 am. It's a good idea to arrive early (7:30 am), to get an easy parking spot at Fort Lauderdale City Lot.

This is really important that we get going as soon as the wind comes up and steadies to avoid the mid-day sag that usually happens.

Second, we've got all kinds of prizes to be awarded from very generous supporters of the event:

Adventure Sports - Neil Pryde; JP-Australia; Cabrinha Kites

Sandy Point Progressive Sports - Aerotech; Exocet; Epic

Third, I think we're going to have a great turnout including a rumor we will have some international sailors joining in.  This could make the $200 prize for the 7th place finisher who goes the whole distance add a bit more of an incentive.  Stay tuned,

Ron
