Hi,

The Race is Saturday, 9 a.m. start, SHARP.  Be ready to launch then!

Here's why.  Reading the weather has been tough deciding which day and when.  If you've been following the weather, it's been all over the place.  Here's what I'm looking at now, 4 p.m. Friday:

NOAA Marine Forecast

TONIGHT
SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND SLIGHT
CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS.

SATURDAY
SOUTHWEST WINDS 13 TO 18 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. SHOWERS LIKELY AND CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS.

SATURDAY NIGHT
NORTH WINDS 14 TO 19 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

SUNDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 11 TO 16 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

www.iWindsurf.com forecast for Saturday:

From the model tables:

From Accuweather (Land Based, not marine):

Saturday launch at 9 a.m. gives us plenty of time to complete the race in good planing wind.  SSW is sideshore in Fort Lauderdale & Pompano and tends to stay sideshore even after it's clocked inland.  All the reports have plenty of wind for Saturday.  Sunday, not so, and I have very strong doubts that it will blow any harder than 10 mph from the NE on Sunday in which race completion would be very difficult.

Shorebreak tomorrow should look about like it is now:

Sideshore launching is the easiest conditions because you blast out through the zone.

Great prizes to be awarded including a Neil Pryde RS:Slalom MK II 5.4m sail, board bags, back packs, pads, harness lines and $150 for the 8th place finisher.

See you early tomorrow!
