The i-to-i race is tomorrow, Saturday. Here's the
scoop.
NOAA Marine Forecast:
SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 15
TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET NEAR
SHORE AND UP TO 5 TO 7 FEET IN THE GULF
STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS
CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF
SHOWERS.
SUNDAY
EAST WINDS 15 TO 20
KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET. INTRACOASTAL
WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
iWindsurf: NE high-teens for Saturday,
E low 20's on Sunday
Accuweather: same
Tide: Sat/Sun - mid-tide going low;
Offshore wind currently which is forecast through the night
and should make the shorebreak small, it's non-existent now, so launching should
be less of an issue for most everybody. I think the forecast is ideal
for the race. If it's too little wind, it takes forever to finish and is
iffy. Too much wind could be a problem too. I think it sounds just
right!
Skipper's Meeting: 9:00 a.m.
First possible race start Saturday,
December 13, 2008, 9:45 a.m. BE READY!
It's a good idea to arrive early (8:00 am), to
get an easy parking spot at
South Beach City of Fort
Lauderdale Lot, (Residents free with City Parking Card, $10 others for all
day parking) and get rigged up.
See you there,
Ron
